Buddhist Noetics

“In philosophy, noetics is a branch of metaphysical philosophy concerned with the study of mind and intellect.” It would be quite legitimate or even useful to perhaps use the term also in Buddhist philosophy, a kind of Buddhist Noetics.

  1. yes, this would be good; we should have a complete translation of Dharmakirti´s Pramanavarttika (if possible with commentary of Prajnakaragupta); but who would have the courage to do it? As Husserl is surely difficult to translate into english, so also Dharmakirti (we have Husserl in english but Dharmakirti...?); without translations we could never engage in comparative metaphysical philosophy and kind-intelligent exchange (which is undoubtedly based in compassionate cognition) for promoting mutual understanding and assuring/validating ethical values which are absolutely essential in our evolving society. Linguistic specialists shouldn´t hesitate..., when conditions are favourable, just do it..., the fruits will come...; there will always be brave, gentle people who will not disappoint such efforts...
